DESPERATE
Being incarcerated this long, I always encounter another guy just like me, with a sentence just like my own and a limited understanding of the law. Facing years of prison, a man can be desperate. It’s kinda like crawling through the desert looking for relief/water.
I see them getting hustled, for the pennies they have, only to get a trashed out Legal Brief, that has NO evidence to support the rumors they passed along to a crook. If they’re lucky they’ll get heard only to once again face the same legal system that stuffed them in prison in the first place. I ask how can a complete lament, novice and person whom barely reads or write prepare a Legal Brief in Federal, Supreme Court or the like and expect to win?
THE SYSTEM

To make matters more daunting the system gives you time limits, typing rules and legal jargon that impossible odds. They’re right: Justice is blind but we are dying in here!
OUR INNOCENCE AND IGNORANCE ARE IGNORED
What most people don’t know is the inner workings of the Appeals Courts. No one.
